    Davitt Design Build is seeking an Insurance Estimator/Project Manager to support multiple company divisions. This individual will work with insurance adjusters and home owners to scope and estimate property damage and replacement costs. This is an ideal position for an analytical and sales-focused candidate with a background in construction project management or insurance investigation.

    Responsibilities

    • Scope and assess damage to property
    • Analyze information from scope and using Xactimate Estimating Software report findings to respective insurance company
    • Correspond with public adjusters, private adjusters, agents, etc.
    • Prepare report of findings and appropriate forms of the assessment to respective insurance company
    • Conduct appropriate research to support building loss appraisal
    • Stay informed about the latest regulations
    • Network with potential lead generators (i.e. Real Estate Agents/Brokers, etc.)
    • When scoping an insurance loss, always be on alert for potential opportunities, either for Davitt Insurance Restoration projects or for future Appraisal work
    • Accomplish timely and accurate estimates.
    • Provide effective compilation of current costs for materials and sub-contractors and effective Scopes of Work
    • Keep current with materials, prices and building estimating trends as well as industry changes affecting cost and availability of materials and subcontractors
    • Attend appropriate training and meetings as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience required
    • 3 – 5 years of related experience estimating costs and damages in the building construction or insurance investigation industry
    • Demonstrated knowledge of residential construction, renovation, and architecture, including materials, methods, and tools
    • Demonstrated knowledge of cost estimating principles
    • Experience with Xactimate estimate software strongly preferred
    • Basic math skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed information
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Availability to travel to project sites between Greenwich, CT and Boston, MA as needed
