Our client, the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc. (CUAHSI) is a non-profit organization representing over 130 universities and water-science organizations across the globe. CUAHSI receives support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop infrastructure and services for the advancement of water science in the United States.


CUAHSI is currently seeking a Hydrologist / Community Engagement Manager to support several essential functions. This will include hydrological modeling and data management, providing industry knowledge to internal and external entities, and planning and execution of community engagement programs for CUAHSI’s professional network. This is an ideal position for an educated candidate looking to start a career in the water science field.


  • Creates and analyzes hydrological models using a variety of software tools
  • Provides technical expertise related to hydrological sciences to CUAHSI’s internal team and greater network
  • Manages communication with CUAHSI’s national network of universities, non-profits, and research entities
  • Organizes and executes meetings, in-person training, and other hydrology-related events for this national network, specifically CUAHSI’s National Water Center Innovators program, which is a collaboration with the NOAA’s National Water Center in Tuscacloosa, AL
  • Develops and tracks budgets for these activities
  • Evaluates and reports on effectiveness of programs both internally and to funding agencies
  • Travel to meetings and trainings nationwide to execute programs
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Master’s Degree in Hydrology, Water Science, or another related field
  • Professional or academic experience in a relevant area of environmental science
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required; basic coding and GIS skills strongly desired
  • Experience planning and executing events strongly preferred
  • Program management and outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and complex problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the U.S. on a monthly basis
