Overview

Our client, based in Tewksbury, MA is a platform company comprised of divisions that manufacture leading brands and products in the specialty coatings markets. Their brand leadership and tested performance provide a foremost position in the specialty construction coatings and industrial coatings segments.

 

We are currently seeking an IT Project Manager to take point on company-wide IT initiatives. This person will be responsible for selecting, implementing, and maintaining an IT solutions package including EDI and CRM (Salesforce) systems, as well as working with internal infrastructure leaders and outside contractors to ensure that IT Applications are operational and up-to-date. The ideal candidate will have outstanding technical project management skills, preferably in a multi-entity manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage IT application projects: Prioritize, plan and track project progress
  • Design, develop and modify programs, including prototypes. Research product development options versus application packages
  • Consult with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into project objectives
  • Plan, assign, and direct the activities of several external developers and business analysts involved in the analysis, design, development, and deployment of technology solutions
  • Manage all aspects of the Business System Development for the company including technical design and delivery of technology solutions
  • Provide guidelines for the development application methodology, development tools / languages and hardware choice in order to reduce the maintenance of the business applications
  • Lead meetings with senior management to determine business system requirements
  • Review and analyze existing applications programs in development to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of those programs.
  • Review requests for program changes required to meet needs of Business Application Users
  • Lead the troubleshooting of business Application Systems to determine causes for system failure and to implement solutions
  • Provide input required in the preparation of annual budget figures, for the IT Business Applications including needs for upgrading software and resources needed to ensure timely response to meet needs of user departments
  • Leverage shared IT tools, processes, best practices, and systems across multiple divisions
  • Build and drive a culture

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience implementing and maintaining ERP systems, including configuration, reporting, training, deployment
  • Advanced knowledge of Sage MAS 500 required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or other relevant field
  • Expertise with Salesforce strongly preferred
  • Strong technical project management skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Can prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Able to create small query and updates in SQL
  • Ability and willingness to travel to company sites across the country as needed
  • Can communicate effectively
