We are looking for a Part Time Benefits Billing Specialist/Accounting Assistant to join our exceptional team.  The Benefits Billing Specialist/Accounting Assistant will be responsible for directly supporting clients on a daily basis to ensure that all benefits programs’ billing is done in an accurate and timely manner, to the satisfaction of all of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the following:
    • Receive and download benefits bills from carrier website
    • Recording received carrier bills on the Benefit Bills Received spreadsheet
    • Creating a billing invoice on a monthly basis reflecting monthly carrier premiums
    • Scan and save monthly benefit packet to company storage drive
    • Coordinate with Accounting Department for creation of premium checks
    • Review, verify, save and distribute premium checks
    • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Resolves any billing issues that may arise with any of the firm’s clients
  • Acts as a direct point of contact for any clients who have questions, concerns, or issues with their benefits billing
  • Maintains all benefit and billing information to ensure that it is always up-to-date
  • Accountable for remedying any discrepancies that arise in benefits billings
  • Keeps track of the checks and balances of the company and clients’ daily operations
  • Supports and interacts with the Client Account Managers and the Accounting/Benefit Manager with their daily responsibilities at the firm and to resolve any issues
  • Training QC Benefit Packets

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of related Accounts Receivable/Billing experience
  • College degree with accounting coursework preferred
  • Must be extremely detailed and organized
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize responsibilities in fast paced environment
  • Experience with QuickBooks a plus
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to inspire collective success
  • Highly developed computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, strong administrative and analytical skills
  • Exhibits a high degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Reliable and meets all required deadlines
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled at multi-tasking
  • Personable, a good listener, and is able to effectively communicate with all staff and client types through both written and verbal means
  • Works efficiently both independently and as a member of a larger team
  • Willing and flexible to help with any urgent issues that happen to arise at the firm, even if they are outside the immediate scope of the Benefits Billing Specialist’s usual daily role at the firm
