Our client, Ampion, Inc., is a nationwide turnkey Software as-a-Service (SaaS) solution that manages business processes for renewable energy assets. Since being founded in 2014, their state of the art software and experienced team have been meeting the increasing demands for support in all things energy, regulatory analysis and customer acquisition.


The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accuracy and oversight of the day to day accounting, payroll and benefit functions. This position requires an experienced leader and manager who demonstrates both analytical and in-depth technical skills on accounting principles and practices.


Accounting Functions:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and balance sheets in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting; including maintaining the company’s General Ledger system and related accounts
  • Assist with the Accounts Payable/Receivable process ensuring all respective payments are completed and received in a timely manner
  • Process, review and analyze monthly and year end closings
  • Prepare, manage and coordinate annual audit and tax planning
  • Coordinate and prepare the budget and financial forecasts for the company and our clients
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement ways to improve financial processes/policies and supporting information systems to streamline work and provide cost savings
  • Other duties or projects as assigned

Human Resource Functions:

  • Act as the liaison between Ampion and outsourced HR vendor, HR Knowledge
  • Review and process bi weekly payroll
  • Audit payroll reports to ensure accuracy for salary changes, benefit and payroll deductions, and payroll adjustments
  • Work with HR Knowledge to answer and resolve any and all questions and concerns regarding payroll and benefit 
  • Oversee and manage any and all administrative tasks related to both the On-Boarding and Off-Boarding of employees
  • Monitor and maintain all insurance policies
  • Annual review of company offered benefit programs


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in finance and accounting
  • Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Index Matching and Visual Basic (VBA))
  • Previous experience with Quickbooks, ADP and data management software
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to give direction and take the lead on tasks
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing prioritizes, effectively meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, strong administrative and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to work with highly confidential material
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management to communicate opportunities and risks, and identify and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
