Overview

Our client, E.A. Dion, is a family operated company specializing in award and recognition jewelry.  Their reputation for creativity and innovation, quality products and services, business integrity, customer service and support have made Dion a sought-after supplier for a variety of diverse groups.
 
They are currently looking for a Purchasing/Inventory Control Associate to join their dynamic Inventory and Purchasing Team. This individual will ensure that the supply of precious metals and stones meets the high-volume needs of the company’s operations, and will be responsible for gathering material specifications, delivery of materials to internal customers, maintaining appropriate inventory, and reducing supply chain costs. We are seeking a self-motivated team player who is trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, and committed to continual process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Process requisitions received from various departments.
  • Place orders and follow-up on orders as necessary for delivery dates.
  • Receipt and issuing of material.
  • Perform and maintain cycle counts and maintain inventory records
  • Run reports and follow-up as needed.
  • Review open order report and contact vendors for delivery confirmations.
  • Review and follow up on customer supplied item requirements
  • Communicate among departments regarding status of requested materials.
  • Research new suppliers for requested materials
  • Process scrap for E.O.M. refining
  • Process materials for Assay Testing
  • Monitor inventory of diamonds, ring stones, and precious metals and maintain accurate inventory records

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Two years of experience with inventory of valuable commodities preferred
  • Maintain confidentiality with all aspects of the business including materials, pricing, and vendors
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new technical systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships within the organization
  • High attention to detail and process oriented
  • Personal initiative, drive, and genuine interest in learning, growing, and pushing boundaries
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage interruptions effectively and professionally
